Who qualifies for IAB?

Eligible IAB candidates are students enrolled in ERC-accredited secondary schools throughout the Arab World. ERC accredits a secondary school for IAB if it satisfies the following conditions:

  1. The school curricula and resources promote experiential development of IAB Student Profile.
  2. The school administration and faculty are committed to administering various IAB school assessments and exit exam, and reliably documenting the evolution of individual students’ profiles in grades 10, 11 and 12 according to IAB regulations.
  3. Candidate teachers fit ERC Teacher Profile, and are committed to continuous professional development, and participation in IAB teacher training programs.
  4. The school fits ERC School Profile.

Specific arrangements will be made for students who move, through secondary school education, from non ERC-accredited schools to accredited schools.
ERC may assist an interested school that does not meet accreditation criteria to bring itself up to speed on required conditions.
Accreditation procedures and applications will be made available in the spring of 2010.
