E-platform
How are IAB assessments administered?
Design and delivery of IAB assessments benefit from latest advances in measurement research and technology, including an IAB e-platform with a unique item bank, online assessment and on-screen marking of paper tools.
At specific points of instruction, participating teachers are asked to access the e-platform, retrieve specific formative or summative assessments, and administer them to their students in their own classrooms. Administration may be online or off-line, and, in the latter case, electronic or on-paper. Administration of these assessments will be constantly monitored by concerned IAB officers. Results will be continuously analyzed at ERC to track the evolution of individual students’ profiles, and to ascertain items and assessments and refine them if necessary.
The IAB exit exam will at first be offered on paper, but will eventually become available electronically online, as well. Paper tests for the exit exam will be printed at ERC and securely distributed to various exam centers where they will be administered, at the same time. These centers will be managed by IAB Country Officers throughout the Arab world. Student exam copies will be returned to ERC where they will be scanned, and then physically and electronically stored. Electronic copies will be returned to regional offices where they will be marked on-screen. All marked copies will be returned online to ERC where they will be analyzed and stored.
